It all starts with educated middle-income 20 and 30 somethings moving moving into a predominantly working-class community for bigger bang for their buck. The neighborhood has to adapt to the new people coming in. Also, property values rise and people who can afford to stay there end up moving out.

The main economic factors are that everyday needs and resources once viewed as governmental responsibilities have been handed over to "outsider" companies whose scope, grasp, and concern for the on-the-ground life in a city is limited. Entertainment is regulated to shopping malls, chain stores, sports stadiums, and for-profit festivals. Small businesses are forced to compete with Best Buy, Staples, and Target.

Boston, Chicago, and New York in the late 19th and 20th centuries they shared ideas for innovation, opportunity, and heterogeneity so people would come together. Over the last 30 years these big responsibilities were handed to outsider companies. Small businesses compete with bigger stores. For those who work at for example a stadium they would have to live far unless someone lives in the urban lifestyle. But some cities do have the time and money to improve and get better.

Middle income educated white men between the ages of 20 to 30, have moved into a working-class community which results in minorities being moved out. Culture and diversity are being pushed away by the new models of buildings being placed by educated white men in the cities. Like in Santa Ana, many other cities are being faced with the same issue where the culture that was in those cities are gone. Mainstream media such as articles have warned their leaders about the new urbanization being placed. Urbanization, unfortunately is not new and has been developing since the 1950's.
