We chose this element of music because it is something that almost anyone can relate to. Anyone who has felt a passionate emotion or anyone who has dealt with loss can relate to at least a few sappy songs. Another interesting thing about sappy songs is that they can be happy or sad. Someone can write a song about a heartbreak or a death, but also a song that celebrates a relationship or a new found feeling for someone or something else. Since sappy music is something that almost anyone can relate to, it is one of the most popular topics of music.
