neville def gets rlly fidgety when he wants something, so you generally can tell. when he wants cuddles, he’s always like right next to you, but far enough away so that he’s not in your way or bothering you. He fidgets with his fingers, picking his cuticles and nails or at the hem of his sweaters until you take his hand. he’ll look up at you like you’re a gift from Merlin himself in those moments, he sees you as the most perfect person he’s ever met. you put your hands in his pockets with his or vice versa and it keeps him distracted, you use wandless magic to continue what you were doing, or give him a task to help you, finishing it quickly. once your hands are free, he’s peering over your shoulder, stooping slightly ( bc tall boi🧍) to put his chin on your shoulder, arms hovering over your waist. “can we snuggle, please, love? i just-” he’s so unsure of how to express it, his Hogwarts stutter comes back for a minute- “i just… w-want to b-be with you, to.. hold you. w-we don’t h-have to of course, i-i just-” and you just smile and pull him into a hug, going to snuggle on the couch <3

nev would watch you get ready, not like in a weird way, he’s just absolutely fascinated with the transformation, and how you can get even more beautiful and ethereal than he thought possible. if you end up hurting yourself while doing it (i.e. pulling a rlly tough knot in your hair, knicking yourself with your curling iron / straightener, poking your eye w/ your mascara spoolie, etc.) he’ll be really concerned and upset, checking at least 10,000 times if you’re okay. “Sunflower, m-maybe you shouldn’t use that anymore? You’re already very beautiful, a-and I don’t want you hurting yourself..” he’s upset that it hurt you, but he doesn’t want to take it away from you. he ends up settling this by scowling at the object which has offended you, it’s more like a very cute angry pout. he’s not quite intimidating, but he secretly could whoop ass if it came down to it. when he learns you play piano:

neville would think it’s incredible that you play, and he admires how skilled you are. he’d be curious, but wouldn’t want to bother you, so he stays back a bit unless invited closer. he knows his fidgeting can be a bit distracting, so he tends to distance himself from those who are focusing. if you invite him to sit on the bench with you, he’d watch how your hands move, and occasionally smile up at you in awe as he tries to grasp how you could be so ethereal to him. his hands would fidget in his lap, as he’s unsure of what else to do, but you just take them gently, place yours atop them on the keys and guide him through the melodies until he is confident enough to do them on his own. and when he does? he’ll have the cutest little grin of pride and incredulousness. “I-I pl-played it..? I played it! I really did! Thank you, sunflower..”

You're incredible, are you sure I won't be too much of a bother?" you just shake your head and laugh. you'll spend hours at the piano together, teaching her absolutely every piece you know, and even making random tunes together.
