It was great to see the lights turn on when they realized they were going through the steps of the scientific method- just in a different way.  They did struggle with a couple of aspects - like how exactly to collect data and understanding what the evidence was telling them.  It did take longer than I expected it to, but I know that part of it was due to going through the whole process for the first time.
