Basically anything from the 1970s to the 1990s. You’ll notice that even interior design is going down the route of 1970s inspired Scandinavian living and the same is true for how graphic design has been approached this year.

    One of the biggest influences of the modern retro vibe is geometric and isometric shapes. They are everywhere. They create a clean and simplistic look to your designs, but they also give off this indie hipster chilled vibe. That’s what Scandinavian living is about right? Chilled back, folk music in the background and you look out on the mountains from your log cabin. Okay, that might be a stereotype or just an idyllic lifestyle choice but the geometric shape trend has flourished in the era of modern retro.
    You will find something calming about the patterns and the simplicity of the clean lines of these designs.
