Based on prior information, I knew that American efforts in the war was a game-changer for France and Britain, because they had a lot more firepower now, then ever before when America agreed to join the war.  Specifically, in the Champagne-Marne Operation, (July 15-18, 1918) the Americans helped France and Britain repel the final German attack, and "flipped the board," so that Germany was on the defensive side and they ended up retreating out of France.
This was a main effect that America had on WWI.
