Emperor Guangwu, Liu Xiu, was an emperor of the Han Dynasty and a descendant of the royal Imperial Family of China. Before his life in politics, Liu Xiu was completely content as a farmer. He had no previous care to reunite the fallen dynasty, like many others did. Then a prophecy was made that he would one day become emperor, and family encouraged him to make this prophecy come true. He climbed the ranks of the system; first becoming army general and then finally becoming emperor. As army general, he made a huge impact on restoring unity in China by winning many battles against opposers. 21 The most memorable aspect of Emperor Guangwu was he peacefulness. Before Guangwu came into the picture, the only way anyone could become emperor was by killing the current one. Guangwu, on the other hand, took a peaceful approach and got what he was after. He also used this trait in war too, and it lent itself very useful for him. I believe that he made a large impact on the world he lived in. When he became emperor, China was split and there were many rebel groups. But by the end of his ruling, his death, all of China was consolidated and the country was at peace. 22
