Flowers for Algernon is about a man named Charlie Gordon. charlie was born with an unusually low IQ. He has been chosen as the perfect subject for an experimental surgery that researchers hope will increase his intelligence. It a surgery that has already been successful on a lab mouse. The experiment appears to be a scientific breakthrough until Algernon the mouse starts to return to dumb again.

I like how my book shows how Charlie intelligence develops through out of the book. I think that the doctors were the most interesting characters because It's interesting to see how multiple doctors actually manipulate Charlie into testing, surgery and etc. One connection that I have with the book is the way that they talk to Charlie is the way I talk to my children at work. I can compare that the doctors talk to the Charlie as if he was a child because the way that they talk to Charlie is the way I talk to my children at work. It wasn't relatable at all because I never saw any adults ever talk to another adult as if they were a child. Overall I think this is a great book.

In my opinion, this is the best book cover. I like this cover because this particular cover really explains the book. This cover has an ink blot on it. the ink blot really represents a lot in the book because that's how they tested Charlie all the time even to see if Charlie qualified for the surgery. I also believe that was just the best looking cover overall because the rest of them just have a mouse on there, and most people don't even like mice, so who really would want to read it.

"progris riport 1 martch 3, dr.strauss says I shoud rite down what I think and remebir and evrey thing that happins to me from now on." page 1
That's one of the most important quotes because that's how Charlie was in the beginning. That is how he talked and wrote throughout most of the story because he was slow.

"We went through the cards slowly. This time my responses were different. I "saw" things in the inkblots." page 58
I really liked this quote because this quote really truly shows how he was happy that he was smart. To me this quote just means a lot because to me it seemed like a breath of fresh air because it he saw that the surgery really worked.

"children circle around him laughing and teasing him like little dogs snapping at his feet. Charlie smiles at them." Page 45
I think this quote is important because it exaggerates how he was really born slow. When kids normally get teased and called name people usually cry or get mad but he just sat there smiling. I also really like how they really tried to show he was slower than other children.

I would recommend this book to honestly anyone. If I had to rate this book I would give it a 4.5 because I just love the certain part of the book. I love how the book exaggerates certain qualities of the character and the whole entire book. I would definitely recommend this book to a person who likes to read science fiction. I also would recommend the book to a person who likes sad things because towards the end of the book it get's sad.

I choose the song happy because It really doesn't relate to the theme of the story, but It relates a lot to the middle of the book. When Charlie Gordon was really happy that he got his surgery, and it actually worked.
