A constitutional monarchy is when a monarch acts as head of state. The Prime Minister will select and dismiss members of the cabinet and, allocates posts to other members of the government. He vetoes and passes laws for the government. He also designed a program to help students who fall behind in general school education. </div>]]></description>

They also have Jamaican coins. May 1, 1961 was the date when Bank of Jamaica notes came into circulation.  There is a $50, $100, $500, $1000, $5000. There is a signature from the Governor of Bank of Jamaica on the dollar. There is also a serial number and a date on the bill. </div>]]></description>

The main imported crops are bananas, citrus fruits, coconuts, coffee, and yams.<strong> </strong>Jamaica is the 140th largest export economy in the world. The top exports from Jamaica are ore, hard liquor, cars, and raw sugar. There are lots of other imports and exports to and from Jamaica too.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is a picture of Jamaican construction workers digging for things in an area for research about history. Arawak Indians lived in Jamaica when Christopher Columbus arrived there in 1494. The Spanish enslaved the Arawak and later brought Africans to the island as slaves. The Spanish used Jamaica as one of the biggest supply bases for slaves. People did not try to settle in Jamaica because they had no gold supply. They did not try to develop an island because they didn’t have enough money.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are lot’s of different religions and cultures in Jamaica but one of the biggest ones is Muslims and Buddhists. Lot’s of Jamaican people would go to church on Sunday to pray. The country is mostly Christian and there are lot’s of churches in Jamaica for people to pray. Jamaican religion today, as far as Christianity goes, is a true lesson in diversity. There was only one church that was allowed to function freely during slavery.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Religion is a very important part of Jamaica. Sundays are filled with Families holding three bibles on their way to church. There is a church on almost every street in Jamaica. As slaves, Jamaicans weren't allowed to go to church. But, they were given Sundays as rest days. They still tried to study the bible and say prayers. To today's date, there are lot’s of different religions practiced in Jamaica. There are lot’s of churches and religions to study and practice. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Daily life in Jamaica is different from daily life here in the United States. There are different types of houses in Jamaica. Some of them have tin or zinc houses. The houses are usually pretty small. Water is very hard to gather in Jamaica. Some people would try to gather rainwater by using big buckets. When the rainwater starts to slow down, Jamaican families will use the buckets full of water from previous rain storms.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
