Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, and grew up in Hardin County, Kentucky. He did not attend school much due to him working more to help his family. In 1830, he moved to Illinois while simultaneously working and continuing his education in New Salem. He focused on literature and mathematics, however it seems that due to joining debating
society--he became interested in politics.
