Not a whole lot goin on, but I like it that way. Its textures are very simple; as it's mostly grass and nature surrounding the house. So it'll be mostly out of bricks. Aside from the house's colors, which will be a light darkish blue, the colors of the landscape will be a natural green accompanied by the grass and trees. In terms of spatial elements, the house will be the only thing taking up the land. No pools, drive ways, or sheds. I would like to have my walls made of Pine wood going vertical up and down straight lines from floor to ceiling. My floor would be made of stone tile with a darkish stone slate color, and I would use steel to keep the house structure more secure. Pretty simple style using only wood, stone, and Steel three things making it built with minimal material which should bring the beauty from the outside as the sun shines through the glass windows.  (date 1956).  I would describe the style as tricky twist that plays with your mind finding abstract using your perception. The subject is a black box and the content of the work includes squares, colored black, and white surrounded by White back round. To me, the images speak of mind games focusing on one one area only to feel like other squares are moving due to the weight of the abstract. The central image is framed in an oil canvas frame. The black squares is committed not so much to measuring the weight and substance of what we actually perceive in the world around us, but, paradoxically, to offering a glimpse into the unseeable forces and gravities that twist and distort our perception. Here, it feels like the memory of the zebra’s stretching and contracting stripes has been fed through a digitising scanner or the pixelating mince of a particle collider in order to decrypt the binary code of its aesthetic essence. The elements most important to me are colors that are natural and inviting, and organization of space. The colors in the picture provided are deep woodsy browns. I love this because the colors form a connection with the outside of the home. The rectangular windows here are large and outside you see a similar color scheme of brown from the trees. This kitchen is almost like a safe extension of its surrounding natural environment. The walls here do not hide this staircase. This main room feels large, open, and the ceilings feel high. The lines are straight and elegant, and because it is so open it allows you to connect an art or color theme between the top and bottom floors. To increase the openness of this layout, the walls of other rooms do not come together in a rectangular fashion. They are angled and have more of a trapezoidal shape opening up more into other rooms. Beyond that is a flat open patio area there is an outdoor fireplace also made of stone and a spacious area that looks like an outdoor kitchen. The style is very contemporary and unique to Lau, but I would consider it to be naturalistic to the character it portrays. The character depicted is Fran from the video game Final Fantasy XII. It is very recognizably her. The color schemes in the game are somewhat washed out and gentle and Lau translates this into his picture. His use of colors are softer, not too harsh or bold. In the background are the leaves of a tree since Fran comes from the forest, but the greens are more pastel-like and varying in value. Her hair is white but Lau represented shadow and depth well here. This piece would be a tribute to my geekdom. Nevertheless, I would love to have a room like this in my house. The shape is the first thing I notice; the walls angle inward starting about halfway up creating a trapezoidal shape to the room. The elliptical alcove at the end changes the feel of the room quite a bit. The odd geometrical shape of the room might look utilitarian and practical, implying that the builders were trying to maximize the useable space in the structure by adding a room in the attic. But the ellipse makes this room look softer and more elegant, a highlight rather than an afterthought. Polished wood is the predominant texture here, if you can see it past all the books and paper. It's large for a door knocker, probably about 18 inches top-to-bottom, and would work best on a large door. It plays to the fanciful, old-English look of the house overall. Again, these can be designed to be attractive as well as practical. Here we have dark brown mulch covering pathways that are separated from the beds by lighter-colored rough-cut wooden logs. It is designed by Miró Rivera Architects and is on a steeply sloping, wedge-shaped site that opens to sweeping views of a canyon, Lake Austin and the Hill Country. The balcony gives a clear and beautiful view of the river and canyon which would be the perfect place to study, meditate, and find peace. I also love the aesthetic of wooden houses being isolated, but this position on the hill gives it even more beauty.

This image is from the library in the home used as a study hall but this is a very spacious and modern room in the home. There is a mixture of bamboo and wood throughout the home and the colors are really earthy reds and browns. The textures in this room have a variety of textures such as the couch looks leather and the coffee table separating the rooms is bamboo and the walls look like they are a greenish stone. In this room of the home I see a lot of lines and squares if I had to describe this picture as a shape.

It was made in 2021 (I can’t find a specific date/month). I would personally describe this as modern art. It’s of a folklorico dancer in the traditional costume from the state of Jalisco. I would choose to put art like this up in my house because of the significance that Folklorico has had in my life. It has been a huge part of me and helped shaped who I am today.
