Muslims believe that the last book, which is the word of Allah, has been revealed on the seal of Prophets, Prophet Muhammad pbuh. As Muslims, we believe in all the scriptures and books that were revealed to the Prophets before Prophet Muhammad. Allah says in the Holy Quran; Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." Surah Al Baqarah, Ayat 136.

Muslims also believe that the first three books, known as Zabur given to Hazrat Dawood, Torah given to Hazrat Musa, and Injil was given to Hazrat Isa do not exist in their original form today, as they could not maintain their revelational character, which means that they lost their original message as changes were done to these books by the people of that time. (The laws were changed through human intervention) Hence Muslims believe in the original holy books, the way those books were when they were revealed, and they do not accept the changes done later by humans in them. Muslims also believe that Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s) was given Suhufe Ibrahimi and we find it being mentioned in the Quran; “Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.” Surah Al A’laa, Ayat 18 & 19.

Muslims believe that the Quran is the word of God, the last book revealed on the last prophet, Prophet Muhammad pbuh. It is unchanged and completely protected by Allah unlike the previous books.

The Prophet’s life is (Also known as Sunnah) acts as an explanation to the Quran. For example, the Quran instructs us to pray, give zakat and perform hajj. But the methodology or the way these things are supposed to be done is not written in the Quran. Hence, we investigate Sunnah.

The Quran contains laws on different things such as the punishment for theft, and adultery. It also outlines the four faraiz of performing wudu (Ablution), rules on distribution of inheritance, rules on divorce and trading. It also covers general etiquette on how to conduct ourselves in our daily lives. It would be correct if we say that the Quran is a complete code of life as it guides human beings to a vast variety of aspects in their life. Not just that but as the last revealed book it successfully reminds us about the day of judgement and the life hereafter. Therefore, we say that the Quran is for everyone till the day of judgement, whereas the previously revealed books were meant for guidance during that time only.
