I thought I was weird that the book didn´t say who won. Maybe there is another book with the ending. I would predict they won but I dont really know what would happen because the best teams usually verse each other and I know that they lost 5-1 already so they could of lost. But as I know so far they probably won.

Salie encouraged all the soccer players who will be participating in the championship games to tell their stories. Deo had struggled to provide his story but in the end I can infer that it benefited Deo for the better. "Each story is like the black-and-white patch of a soccer ball. Each one makes the ball whole" (Williams 202). Deo has learned a lot about his fellow team mates and learning each and every story has brought the team together. Salie has faith in his team and provided the best for them. Learning new information about one another benefits them because they now understand that very few of them are actually South African, and each member of the team can relate to one another since they have all be through some sense of adversity. In the end their adversity makes them stronger.

He knows that is back story
isn´t the best but he gets comfort from the other people around him. He says it and feels better by doing so.

Deo and Keelan have discovered the stop on where the billion dollar soccer ball and the Bix-box were. After they had returned to the YMCA Deo had opened his brother's Bix-box. Afterward, Deo seemed to find some sympathy for his father rather than anger. In the text Deo stated, "To Innocent and Deo. It's my name. It's from my father. He wrote something to me. I've never seen this before" (Williams 211). Deo had always believed his father had never loved him. He always thought that his father only wanted to love Innocent. After the event where he found something from his brother addressed to him. I can infer Deo had let go of some of his anger. I can predict this because he said he had never seen this before, and the fact of Deo only being one years old when his father left he where to believe he only remembered Innocent rather than him. The event of finding the book gave Deo some hope within his father and realized his father actually did in fact love and remember him.

It seemed like everybody on this team went through something similar to Deo, but everybody used soccer as thier way of peace and comfort. Deoś story was very heartbreaking, but he found peace about talking to people about his life. I can assume that Deo never really talked to anyone and really talked about himself because Deo is a very selfless person. And now that he is talking to his teamates it is a way of socializing and now he understands that he is not alone.

Deo playing in the championship games requires him to be on television. The interview Deo and T-Jay had with the reporter, clarified how much technology the boys are actually aware of. As they are waiting to be interviewed the boys are having a conversation while the camera man frowns at the boys. The situation showed how much the boys actually know about live tv. The conversation they were having at the time was recorded since they were attached to the microphones. I can infer my previous statements because neither of the boys had really attended school. Based on both their stories they were mostly running. This backs up my previous theory because the little information they know doesn't include technology just survival. This shows how little they know about modern day technology otherwise known as the things we take for granted.

Salie seems like a very accepting person because these are all different players from different countries coming together to represent south africa. I think that it is good that Salie is giving them all a chance, not only on the team but another chance on life. Because all these players have been through so much and they just want to have a home and mean something in the world, but they need soccer because they are all different but soccer really brings them all together and they all find peace in it. and i find it crazy how Salie can already feel for these players and understand them, it makes me think that she had a past similar to thiers. Also the part where she exepted all the players was really good and bad because im sure that all of the players tried thier hardest to make the team, and that must of been a big relief for thm to know that they all made it, and as a coach this was a very heartwarming thing to do.

In the text Deo stated, "No Ernesto, I think the goalie knows my right foot too well. You take the shot. He won't expect that" (Williams 224). I can observe that Deo felt allowing Ernesto to take the shot was an opportunity for him to show off his skills. He made the excuse of the goalie knowing where he scores too well. Some might say Deo was not confident in his attempt at scoring, but I think under the events circumstances he thought allowing Ernesto to take the penalty shot instead of him was more beneficial.

During the final of the World Cup Deo seemed to utilize his journey that took place up until this very moment to imagine family, friends, and fellow refugees watching him in the stands. I can conclude that the adversity and obstacles Deo had faced was preparing him for this very moment in the world cup. I can infer this because he employs the skills he had learned throughout his journey during the most important soccer game of his life. For example, he uses the soccer move that Aziz had taught him all those years back in Beitbridge to trick the Russian striker. Deos utilization and imagination of his family in the stands gets him through and hardest and most challenging moments and in the moment it might not be seen, but I believe every little obstacle that Deo had to face and full through benefited him in the end.
