Andrés had been dreaming for months of a getaway that would connect him with the essentials: the sun, the sea, and the vibrant culture of Colombia. First, he headed to La Guajira, where the desert meets the Caribbean. On the dunes of Cabo de la Vela, he felt the warm wind and watched the sunset paint the horizon orange and violet.
