Digestion is defined as " sequence by which food is broken down and chemically converted so that it can be absorbed by the cells of an organism and used to maintain vital bodily functions." (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica, 2023) There are many major features that happen as a result of the digestive system. One of which being ingestion, another being chemical digestion. One of the most major being absorption, which is when nutrients from the food consumed are absorbed into the bloodstream, meaning it interacts with the circulatory system delivering those nutrients to other parts of the body to be used, or stored.

The circulatory system "The circulatory system is a network of blood vessels that transport blood throughout the body. The heart pumps blood through the arteries to the tissues of the body, and veins return blood from the tissues back to the heart. The circulatory system also helps to regulate the body’s temperature and pH." (Jalan, M. (2022) One of the major features of the circulatory system is providing cells nutrients as previously stated, also it removes waste products of the metabolism to the excretory organs. Lastly and most importantly it circulates oxygen through the body and removes carbon dioxide, making it interact with the respiratory system.

The Respiratory system brings "oxygen from the external environment to the tissues in the body and to remove from the body the carbon dioxide produced by cell metabolism. In addition, respiration functions in acid–base balance in host defense, in metabolism, and in the handling of bioactive materials. (Themes, U. (2019) One of the important features of the respiratory system is producing sounds, it also protects our body against harmful particles in the air such as pollen, dust, viruses and bacteria. Lastly, it is responsible for gas exchange. This occurs between our circulatory system and the air we garner through breathing air with our respiratory system.

The Endocrine system "produces hormones that function to control and regulate many different body processes. The endocrine system coordinates with the nervous system to control the functions of the other organ systems. Cells of the endocrine system produce molecular signals called hormones. These cells may compose endocrine glands, may be tissues or may be located in organs or tissues that have functions in addition to hormone production." (Fowler, S., Roush, R. & Wise, J. (2021) One of the features of the endocrine system is creating hormones for our sleep, also creating hormones for our growth and development. Finally, it is responsible for fertility and reproduction hormones, which means it interacts with the reproductive system,

The Musculoskeletal system is to "provide support to the body and allow for movement. The bones of the skeleton protect the body’s internal organs and support the weight of the body. The muscles of the muscular system contract and pull on the bones, allowing for movements as diverse as standing, walking, running, and grasping items." (Fowler, S., Roush, R. & Wise, J. (2021) One of the features of this system is it that it produces blood cells, and stores and releases minerals and fats. One of the most important features is that it facilitates movements, making it interact with the nervous system. The nervous system will send a signal to activate the skeletal muscles.

The visual system is processing what is seen on the page; the motor system controls your eye movements and the turn of the pages (or click of the mouse); the prefrontal cortex maintains attention." (Fowler, S., Roush, R. & Wise, J. (2021) One of the main features of the nervous system is breathing which connects the nervous system to the respiratory system. (Humphrey & Perdue, 2023) One of the major features of the immune system is protecting the body against foreign pathogens as stated above and removes dead and or damaged tissue and cells. The circulatory system and the immune system work together by transporting immune cells and signals to sites of infection.
