Why did the hot water cup or cold water cup freeze first in your opinion?

I think that the cold water cup would freeze first because the hot water cup has to cool down before it can freeze because hot things can't freeze. The cold cup is already cold therefore it will take less time to freeze.

I think the cold water would freeze first. First, the hot water has to cool down. While the hot water is cooling down. the cold water will already be freezing because it was cold cold beforehand causing the cold water to freeze in less time the the hot water.

The hot water froze first but I generally don't know why. I just read that this is because of something called The Mpemba effect. It is basically an observation of the fact that hot water freezes faster than cold water. This could be because warm water evaporates faster and since this is an endothermic process, it makes the water freeze quicker. Another could be that warm containers make better thermal contact with the refrigerator. This is just what I read and it did seemed that the hot water did freeze faster

Imagine throwing hot water into the freezing winter air, it would freeze, become snow. Though this does not occur to cold water. Hot water is more dense, solid, than cold water so it basically is freezing as it cools down. Therefore resulting in faster results than cold water. (I am not sure if I'm a hundred percent right because I am not a science geek, please don't attack me)

I think the cold water would freeze first because it is already cold but the hot water has more steps until it turns cold. It has to Cool down first and that will probably take a bit of time but then I tried it and read about it and apparently hot water freezes faster then cold water and that is called the Mpemba effect

The hot water would freeze first because if you put it in the freezer then they are transitioning to becoming cold like ice. So since the water is hot it transitions faster then cold water because it is hot, just like when your washing your hands and the water is hot but then it turns to cold much faster then if the water is already cold.

Between the cold and hot water, the cold water will freeze first because if you put both of the water into your fridge, the cold water is already cold, so it just takes a little bit of time before it freezes. But for the hot water, it will take a longer time because first, it needs to cool it down first, and then it needs to freeze it, so a cup of a hot water basically has 2 steps before it can freeze completely and for the cold water, it only has one step before it completely freezes. In conclusion, cold water will freeze first.
