King George III made a proclamation that said there can not be colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. He hoped to make the Native Americans who had sided against him during the recently concluded Seven Years' War less hostile.

Why did the British Pass the Act?
The British passed the act so that they could make the Natives less hostile by not interfering with them. One more reason is they wanted more control over the colonists so that they didn't revolt.

How did the Colonists react?
The colonists felt that they were being limited. This got many people angry.

How did the colonists react:
