But when our parents are stalking all of our social media accounts ... not so much. Parents should not monitor their kids' digital lives because it violates their privacy, doesn't show them how to be independent, and leads to the making of secretive accounts.

They can also get a little bit disrespectful to their parents because of the new attitude they picked up from social. Kids do things on their phone they know they're not supposed to do. Parents should monitor their kids' digital lives because of dangerous things and people on the internet, and the child might do something horrible without a parent's permission.

But social media is not always sunshine and rainbows, it can be so very mean. So most parents want to protect their children so they do not get hurt or become entitled to do bad things.
