A tour around our mountains

Some years ago, in june, my friend Marco and I, we decided to take a ride around our stunning mountains. Marco had, and still have, a strong passion for difficult paths.

If I had known such a ride was that, I surely had made one by myself or passed the day watching tv.

We reached Recoaro in half an hour and after a ritual coffee we took the cable car toward Montefalcone (1700 mls). From there we made for Malga Fraselle, riding a path faced to a ravine on the right and roks on the left. Any falling would have been fatal for the two of us. I was a little afraid, but Marco was confident and that made me trustful too.

At Malga Fraselle we had to afford a bad descent to get to Giazza. From there, ascent for reaching Refuge Pertica, Refuge Scalorbi. The showpiece arrived when we had to pass though the low pines in a very narrow path. I had to get off my bike and go on by foot, pushing my bike by hand.

once we had reached Passo della Lora, an impossible descent was waiting for us. A mix of big stones, gravel, roots and so on with an infinite amount of narrow hairpins.

When we arrived to Refuge Battisti i felt myself glad to be still alive. I said nothing, because Marco was light-hearted but even thoughtless.

I had never gone that way in all my rides since that time.
