- Multicultural education should not be viewed as separate from basic education.

- Monocultural education reflects only one reality and is biased toward the dominant group. Excludes many people's perspectives and deprives diversity.

- Monocultural education is an incomplete education, whereas multicultural education is a complete education

- Monocultural education is especially evident in the arts and social sciences

- at the very least, students should be required to take a foreign language class, as it introduces them to another cultural perspective

Multicultural education is a philosophy, a  way of looking at the world, not simply a program or class or a teacher.
Examples of pervasive multicultural education is in the lunchrooms, they might ofter a variety of International meals. Encouragement of speaking native language in school.

- Education must address distribution of power, status, and ethics.
- A survey shows that schools are failing at teaching students appreciation for the First Amendment, leading to social justice becoming an empty construct. 
- Schools should encourage and even plan multicultural discussions.
- These discussions can bring light to poverty, discrimination, war, and the national budget.

- antiracist multicultural education forces teachers and students to take a long, hard look at everything as it was and is, instead of just how we wish it were 
- when schools talk about the hard times in history, they only touch on it, and instead focus more on the heroic stories (slavery)
