Lily Allen, Lucy spraggan, Kate nash and mae muller, Taylor swift

musically? Lily Allen and Lucy spraggan and future cut

3. Of all the ways to express yourself creatively,

why music? The lyrics speak to me more than talking and I couldn’t imagine doing any other job

4. What or who motivates you? Documentary’s about songwriting and live gigs and also seeing people who I know doing well.

5. What are 3 of your biggest strengths? Lyric writing is a strength of mine also melody writing and catchy choruses

6. What are 3 of your biggest weaknesses? Not being able to play an instrument and not having much theory knowledge or knowing the words to describe certain melody’s or instrumental parts.

7. If you could make and perform music

anywhere in the world, where

would this be and why? Any festival or I would love to perform at Amsterdam as I have never been there and have seen some live performances there and the crowds look good there.

different time in history,

when would this be and why? Around 2006 as this was when Lily Allen and other people like Kate nash first came on the scene and Brit pop was popular 

9. When did you last feel proud and why was

this? The other week when I got nominated for an award for my singing/music 

10. How do you know if a song is good? Feedback from people but also if I enjoy it myself and want to dance/bop to it.

11. What time of day are you most creative? In the night or late evening as I am most chilled around this time

12. Who is your music for? I write my music for myself and anyone else who enjoys it I don’t really write to an audience

would you like to collaborate

with if you had the chance? Future cut who are caity baser and lily Allen’s producers I have contacted them in the past and they like some of my songs so I’m aiming to work with them in the future. also Kate nash as I love who she is as a person and what she stands for and that she’s a female in the industry who has spoken out about what has gone wrong. She’s been very real throughout her career.

14. Has the internet impacted the music

industry for better or worse and

why? I believe it gives you a platform to network on but also disconnects people from the real world and people are so quick to cancel someone if they don’t like what has happened or what someone has said.

I am a singer/songwriter who loves Brit pop I am inspired by artists such as lily Allen and caity baser who sings about real life experiences

To have the demo recorded before taking it to the band also that I should stick to to the genre I am writing in as it is slowly coming back around.

What Aspects am I most proud of?

My lyric writing and getting more ideas down and coming up with concepts for songs

What aspects do you need to improve further? 

I need to work on harmonies and my production skills need more work and also just being confident writing in my own genre, before I came to Waterbear I had only written one song so I am still not very confident in my writing.

I also need to work non My origination skills with time management so that I can utilise all the time I have.

What new skills have you learnt? 

I have used spice which I never used before so that was fun working out how to use that and get my ideas down a little better I have also homed in on my sound this term and have come up wot more and more concepts to then work om.

If you were to repeat the process what would you do differently? 

If I was to repeat the process I would collaborate with someone who plays guitar so I can have a idea down on the guitar and then add loops so that others don’t have the same track as me or can’t copy the track using loops this will also help keep me authentic and will stop my song sounding similar to others.
