We’re a social awareness campaign dedicated to challenging the limiting messages children receive about who they’re expected to be. From the moment they’re born, kids are shaped by powerful social cues—what toys they’re given, how they’re spoken to, and the roles they see modeled around them. These early experiences don’t just influence childhood—they shape confidence, identity, career paths, relationships, and well-being far into adulthood.

Our mission is to raise awareness about how early socialization impacts long-term life choices and to offer tools, resources, and inspiration for parents, educators, and communities to foster more inclusive, open environments where all children can thrive—free from outdated norms and expectations.

Did you know that in Australia, 83% of engineering jobs are held by men, while 76% of care-related jobs are held by women? These numbers aren’t simply the result of adult preferences—they reflect how we speak to children from the very beginning. When boys are told they’re “logical” and girls are called “caring,” we start shaping their futures before they even know their options. It’s time to challenge these early messages and shift the story.
#BeyondTheBinary #STEMForAll #CareWorkCounts

https://www.stemwomen.com/unravelling-bias-how-gender-stereotyping-in-stem-starts-early

Why is it more acceptable for girls to play with boy toys, dress up as male movie characters and wear boys clothes than it is for boys to do the same?

This New York Times article discusses the rise of gender-based toy marketing, critiquing the persistent gender segregation in toy marketing. While toys were once marketed in more gender-neutral ways, today's toy aisles are more divided than ever.
