4) provide middle school, junior high and high school students, teachers, counselors, and parents with information regarding higher education and financial aid opportunities, 
5) resources needed to implement identified strategies
6) staff responsible for ensuring accomplishment of the strategy
7) timelines for monitoring
8) formative evaluation criteria
9) policy addressing sexual abuse and other maltreatment of children

Goal 2: In Richland Springs ISD 100% of core academic classes will be taught by certified teachers and 100% highly qualified paraprofessionals will be maintained.
Objective 1: Certified teachers will teach 100% of all core classes, 100% of paraprofessionals with instructional duties will meet all highly qualified requirements, and 100% if teachers will receive high quality professional development. Richland Springs ISD will recruit and retain certified teachers. 
Written as SMART goal? No.

Goal 3: All students in Richland Springs ISD will be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug free, and conducive to learning. 
Objective 1: By May 2021, the number of violent incidents will be reduced by 10% as measured by PEIMS and discipline referrals will be reduced by 10%. 
Written as SMART goal? Yes. This objective is worded awkwardly and could/should be rewritten for clarity. 

Goal 4: All students in Richland Springs ISD will graduate from high school.
Objective 1: By May 2021, a drop-out rate of less than 1% for all students and all student groups will be maintained and achieve a completion rate of at least 100%.
Written as SMART goal? Yes. This objective could be rewritten for clarity as well.

Goal 5: Parents and Community will be partners in the education of students in Richland Springs ISD.
Objective 1: By May 2021, at least 90% of all students, parents and/or family members will participate in at least one academic activity for/with their child(ren).
Written as SMART goal? Yes. 

Goal 6: Create an environment that is conducive  to all learning styles and ability levels.
Objective 1: By May 2021, Richland Springs ISD will provide students additional opportunities by expanding academic and elective programs and improving facilities. 
Written as SMART goal? No

6) Parents and school personnel formulate a survey to be mailed with report cards at the end of the 5th six weeks to evaluate the effectiveness of the policy and solicit ideas for improvements and/or additional activities for consideration. Parents and students receive these surveys.
7) Parents/students surveys are evaluated and changes/modifications are made to achieve maximum effectiveness. 
8) Richland Springs ISD may establish a parent advisory board to adequately represent the needs of the population for the purposes of developing, revising, and reviewing the parent and family engagement policy. 
9) Richland Springs ISD provides communication between home and the school through phone or personal contact, 3-week progress reports, 6-week report cards, online gradebook, STAAR results, and other communications as necessary.

The Needs Assessment looks at the entire school and evaluates the academic achievement of students in relation to the state academic standards, paying special attention to those students failing or at-risk of failing the state academic standards. The purpose of the assessment is to aid the district/campus in monitoring/assessing the programs, instructions, and resources related to state standards, examining multiple sources of data, and identifying strengths and weaknesses to set priorities for improvement.
