GLS has been making this one game called citizen science which is about science and about solving the pollution problems in lake. teachers have been using this game to help with education. teachers have been using this game to get information and they send the information to GLS. teachers have been using this game to see if their students actually learn from this. My opinion tho on the GLS is that i think it will help kids learn more and help theam in school.

Question: what are there most popular games at the moment.

Games Learning Society is the biggest learning research centers in the world. Kurt Squire is the co-director of GLS and puts video game with science. He got the idea of this by looking at all the lakes that could not be swam in because of the pollution. This helps kids who could not learn the normal way but do good with video games. GLS is still growing but they are looking for new ways to help out education.

Question- What are the grade levels for GLS?

That is because it gets boring just sitting there doing nothing.

In some cases I think that GLS would help some people learn. In most cases students would rather plays games on the computer than have to sit in a classroom and listen to a teacher drag on about what their supposedly learning. I think that if they were to play a education game thats meant to be educational but also fun at the same time. It is proven in many cases that when you are having fun that you learn better. In my opinion I feel that GLS would greatly improve many students education.

Question: At what age do you think students should be introduced to GLS?

I think having games about the topics in school will embrace you more in the subject and I would definitely do better. I learn a lot better when I am entertained by the topic. Like lecturers and things like make it very hard to pay attention and get embraced in what we are doing. Like if there was chemistry games i guarantee I would have a better grade in the class.

Question: How will the video games be used in learning?

Overall I think it is a good idea and the kids will learn more.

I believe games will play a greater role in schools in the future.

Most kids during school play games during class anyway so if they used games to teach kids then they would be more intrigued. The GLS company is having a great idea with making video games for educatio. Personally i would rather play a video game to learn math rather than do a bunch of work with a paper and pencil. If you make a video game for something I can almost guarantee that a kid would be more excited to do it rather than doing the original thing.

It was interesting to see that the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Wisconsin Institute for Discovery used video games to teach about ecosystems and pollution. I had known before about games made for young children to teach them simple math or the alphabet, but seeing something like this makes me think more in-depth about learning and games. Would this possibly open up new business opportunities for game development companies, or maybe job possibilities for video game designers? If this were to grow, to what extent would it possibly change school's way of teaching certain things?

I personally think that this is a great idea for schools. I am personally a video gamer myself, and I think including video games into school curriculum would be fun. I think that kids would be more inclined to enjoy a class period if they could learn a lesson by doing something fun with the lesson. I mean obviously this should not replace all other teaching methods and lessons because I think that kids should still learn by writing and tests as well. While still believing in that I believe that using games to teach kids would be a useful tool because nowadays games are becoming a whole lot more popular.

I believe that many kids would love this if our school did it (however their parents may not be so on board with the idea), and I myself completely agree with the idea. Kids would probably want to go to school more if they knew that part of the learning was through playing video games.
