In addition to general groups, patterns are divided into specific types, which can be noticed if you look closely at the carpet. The most popular of them are:

1. Medallions - symbols located in the center of the canvas, around which the whole drawing is built. They usually consist of many small elements, and the medallion itself can be round, diamond-shaped or oval. Such patterns are typical for Chinese, Iranian, domestic paintings.
2. Hashti - staggered patterns. Typically, the carpet depicts squares in which there are certain plant or symbolic designs. Similar images are typical for carpets from Iran.
3. Mihrab - a pattern in the form of a mosque niche, symbolizing the gates of paradise. There is no symmetry here, but the composition is clearly expressed. Such drawings are a feature of Turkish paintings.
4. Avshan - a repeating pattern over the entire surface of the carpet.
