Jag tror att den var väldigt aktuell när den skrevs på 60-talet i USA då vietnamkriget var i full rulle och många som lyssnade på den kunde känna igen sig i att man hade sin bättre hälft i Vietnamn men kärleken bestod på långa avstånd. De sjunger "aint no mountain high enough [..] aint no river wide enough baby".
