I feel these topics are so relevant always and just basics we need to know as citizens. Knowing our foundations, when they are taught to the core as much as possible, opens up a world of discovery and "ahhh" moments when studying American History. It also helps understand important moments to come such as elections. I plan instead to use Missouri’s Natural Communities in the lectures and assignments as local examples of these systems and concepts that are required content in the ecology units in Freshman Biology courses.
