what did you know about architecture before the module?

I did not know anything, in depth, about architecture. To me, architecture was just building buildings for big corporations.I never really focused on the artistry architects brought to buildings or other architectural designs such as the Roman Coliseum. Seeing so many buildings in my lifetime just made see every single building out there as the same and it ruined my view on architecture as an art.

I learned that there's definitely more to architecture than constructing buildings. Architecture takes precision, well thought out planning, implementing cultural symbols into architecture while at the same time maintaining its modern feel, and definitely the most important aspect in architecture is the creativity. Creativity is important because it's what brings the "art" into architecture. Without such brilliant and creative minds, we wouldn't be enjoying such beautiful architectural masterpieces such as the Roman Coliseum or Saint Peter's Basilica. In summary, I learned that Architecture is more than just building buildings; architecture is an art.

I've already seen the creativity and artistry in architecture, but what I really want to know and see in architecture is the process that goes on when creating such beautiful works of art. How do these architectural artists find the creativity and inspiration that fuels them to come up with ideas that catch a persons eye. Seeing the final result is something, but seeing how its created is what really catches my attention and is something I would like to learn more about.
