    3. Why is Binta’s idea a great one? Because it raises a tubab child in an environment that has more compassion than most societies in first world country. This is important because it raises a child that might have access to more resources and contacts then the any single person that was born in Senegal with Senegalese values like peace and compassion. This is important because this child can help change values in the first world.

    What aspect of culture is changing in Senegal?
    Women and girls are starting to go to school, Binta is very lucky to have this opportunity because her cousin Soda is not as lucky. Her parents don’t like the idea of something new, and her father wont adapt to the changes, in his fight with Soda’s mother he keeps replying “I’m in charge” most likely because he is a man.   

    What is Binta’s idea?
    To adopt an American/European child (tubab)

    Why Is Binta’s idea a great one?
    I would say her idea is a great one because Senegalese people believe in fairness and taking only what you need, they are kind people and I think they would need that so they could adapt the perspectives and storys 
    To know what life is like for them, and maybe adapt some new ideas from them.
