Some types could be:
Tidal Power, which is like wind power, but it comes from tides, not wind.
Solar Power, which comes from the sun, and special panels absorb the power and emit it into a building, or an engine of some sort.
Wind Power, which comes from wind blowing turbines, which powers a motor; thus giving electricity.
Geothermal Energy, which comes from a geothermal power plant. These plants take heat from deep in the earth.

It is the most used energy today, but politicians are trying to turn to renewable energy.
Some non-renewable energy examples are:
Coal, mined from underground and used for powering houses, it is powered from melting it.
Petrol, which is a car fuel, dug from underground and put in for making cars actually go.
Nuclear Power,  the use of nuclear technology with nuclear fissions. It is a major energy generator. There are less than 500 nuclear plants, but in 2007, it produced 14% of the world's electricity.
