         <description><![CDATA[<p>Law that could be used today: Law #131</p><p>If a man brings a charge against one's wife, but she is not actually caught with the other man, she must take an oath and then may return to her house.</p><p>This law could be used today because it emphasizes the importance of evidence in accusations, and prevents someone from being punished solely on the accusations. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Outrageous</p><ol start="156"><li><p>If a man betroths (contracts for marriage) a girl to his son, but his son has not had sex with her, and if then the father who has made the legal arrangements then does defile her by having sex with her himself, he shall pay her half a gold mina, and compensate her for all that she brought out of her father's house. She may marry the man of her heart.</p></li></ol><p>It is outrageous that incest is common enough in this society that they have to make very specific laws about it, and prepare ahead of time for these things to happen.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Outrageous</p><p><br></p><p>230. If it kills the son of the owner, the son of that builder shall be put to death.</p><p><br></p><p>The law before this basically says that if someone builds a house wrong and it falls and kills the owner of the house the builder is put to death. Law 230 is outrageous because the son of the builder had nothing to do with the construction of the house.</p>]]></description>
