If I, for instance, google autoimmune diseases because it is in my google engine, I will find a significant amount of information that I previously looked up as interest, for example, Education, medications, and even research surveys and clinics.

Using a phone or even a wireless finger probe for sleep studies is impressive.

I honestly didn’t know there was a difference between Electronic Medical records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) until today. In my understanding, EHR is a database that can be seen and shared across a spectrum of facilities and patients. This is where patients can view their labs through an app or portal and communicate with their providers through email or instant messaging. EMR is just facility-related, and records are kept in their database. The database is not shared. I found that cost is a factor in why some providers may choose one over the other. In all, EHR would be most beneficial for patient care.

So my current facility where I work uses the Be Well program. The incentive for answering questions and participating in several programs is that you get money at the beginning of the year to use for your health. The annual lab and vitals the requirements are weight, waist measurement, cholesterol, and glucose. If you are found in critical status, there are certain programs that you can choose from. What I find interesting is that there is no continuity of care. Let's say your glucose is elevated. No provider calls you. It is left up to me to contact my primary physician and alert them of my findings; that isn't continuity of care.

This article discusses the importance of data analytics. Data Analytics examines raw datasets to find trends, draw conclusions and identify the potential for improvement. The pandemic data analytics played a huge role in predicting COVID and hospital stay outbreaks. It helped hospitals predict and prepare to take on patients needing hospital care, and the numbers within the commnnity showed covid outbreaks. There are three types of analytics descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive.

The information formally educates us on how we use health analytics in healthcare; we use data analytics through preventative care to identify risk factors that may correlate to a disease or condition. It can also help with predictions of possible conditions or diseases. Health analytics is vital in healthcare today. It aids in staffing issues. The predictions could aid in how busy a hospital could potentially be ranging from 7 to 14 days. This is huge in creating a schedule and getting ahead on staffing needs. This also helps with patient engagement improvements. It also helps with population health management , EHR use with medical providers and patients.

This blog shows data visualization's importance by looking at xrays, ekg strips, and heart rate. To the untrained eye, it would be unrecognizable if you looked at it in a data set. So we use data visualization for this in diagnosing and evaluating patients. We also use charts and graphs as well.

During a presentation, one of the major themes of the HIMSS22 conference has been the challenge of achieving health equity and eliminating implicit bias. While AI is promising and beneficial in healthcare and aiding physicians in diagnosis, some potential legal and ethical challenges must be tackled. An example used in this article's presentation was an online tool that estimates the risk of breast cancer and calculates a lower risk for Black or Latinx women than White even when every other risk factor is identical. It shows the bias and whom we can predict and prevent if we are not accurately working on helping all races and ethnicities.
