Marvin views life in despair, considering that his brother passed away as a result of the unfair justice system that murdered his brother, Tyler. Thus, this art represents the unfair justice system by implying a man is unaccepted by society as the life behind him wins victory. Just as an unfair society with authorities that do not care about young black lives in modern America with Qualified Immunity existing. For instance, the photo of this man in a courtroom with other men behind him represents chapters 22 when Marvin and his family are in court seeking justice for Tyler. However, with qualified immunity and stereotypes existing, Marvin and his family leave the courtroom with no justice. As the case ends, Marvin is in his head in jarred dispair.
