The war affected the people, by enforcing new laws, like how you had to have a cerfew, you couldn't be out at night, unless your job required it. There couldn't be any lights on past cerfew, unless you had a cover over the cars headlights with a cover to make it dimmer. If you were caught with lights on after cerfew, the light warden would call the army patrol cars, and the army would shoot the lights out with their guns. Another way it affected the people, was that there was a food shortage, so everyone was rushing to the supermarket to buy all the things and food that they needed. Since everyone was doing that, there was such a long line, the people that worked at the supermarket, chose the people that would get to shop while the others didn't.

Another thing the war affected, was the land. The war affected the land because after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, everyone was afraid, and worried about what might happen next to them. Their shortwave radios were taken away, since the army thought that they could send messages to Japanese through the radio. During the war, all these places closed up so that those places could be re-opened as relocation camps like Sand Island. Sand island had barbed wire, but that also happened at a lot of other places on O'ahu.

The last thing that the war affected, was the culture. It affected the culture because they had way more security, since they thought Japan might bomb them again. They also might have been traumatized, because so people might have been taken away for them, or maybe they also had more security and relocation camps for the Japanese-Americans. A lot of Americans learned how to use propaganda during this time. The culture was also affected by everyone wanting to bomb Japan back. They were also very worried and never sure what they should do since they were all so traumatized from the bombing. Everyone wanted to hide away in the tall sugarcane fields so that if they were bombed again, the Japanese fighter planes wouldn't see them hiding.

The war affected the people, land and culture. It affected the people because when the war was on people now had curfews. Also people got black enamel paint to and painted their windows because NO light could go out the house it had to be hidden. People were also more scared and was more protective. They made bomb shelters at school but most of the kids were scared to to go inside.

War effected culture because the Hawaiians were more prepared for the next time Japanese would return. They made ugly barbed wire and dingy bomb shelters. Ugly barbed wire and dingy bomb shelters were used for protection against bombs and bullets. It was set along the the cost line.

War effected land because people had to move from Pearl Harbor because the navy was taking over their houses. People took their houses with them or left it. Also buildings were on fire.

War effects everything. it effects people, land, cultures and friendships. Today, Iʻll be telling you how war effected the people, the land, and the culture. I will be starting with the people.
World War II was a life changer. People were being scared of what happened outside because of bombing and shooting. Their were curfews for people now and now to many food for people to live off of. I can relate to this because when I get some thing I have to get done that is hard and fustrating, I get miserable because I cant figure it out. Main thing: with world war 2, life was way more miserble and hard for the people of oahu.
World War II was also a land changer. Their would be more polution in the air and resources including loko Iʻa's, crops, food, and homes. They destroyed the land for materials to build weapons and use them as training grounds. I can make a connection to this because when Kumu mahealani told me a story that people destroyed a loko Iʻa for its land to make houses. Main thing: Land was destroyed and food could not be produced.
Finnaly, World War II effected the culture of hawaiians and americans. People could not have been buying toys and wheels were destroyed for tanks. Also, Hawaii and Japan were no longer friends in trading and tradition. Main Thing: War killed relationships and the way people do in the way of living.

The war effects a lot of things. one thing that the war affects is that it affects the nature. it affects the nature because there are a lot of bombs that go off and fires that go off. They affect the way trees grow and it can kill many animals. It also affects peoples houses because many houses were destroyed in war or hurt etc. This made a lot of people become homeless. In China when the US dropped the nuke on China millions of people went homeless.

Another thing that the war affects is the things people fear. People started fearing that there was going to be another attack on Hawai'i. They also started to be very racist against the race that attack Hawai'i. Which was Japan so people started to be mean to Japanese people. Just because they have the same race as the people that attack Hawai'i. This affected the Japanese people because they go bullied and the US also made internment camps just for innocent people. They made propaganda about it saying that the internment camps were a nice place but they were pretty much prisons.

The last thing that the war affected is the rules of the land. After the war people had curfews so they couldn't go outside at night or they will get a fine or get shot. They also had to turn off the lights at night so the planes from other country's can't find them. But after a while they just painted there windows black with black paint. Which is very bad because in the day it is so hot. A lot of things change after the war but here are just a few of things that changed.

The war effects people by making them scared by bombing and more aware. It also makes the military make people who live there more uncomfertable because now the have blackouts/curfews ect. The bombing itself is a problem to the people there. After the bombing on Pu'uloa the americans were more aware and started to make people wear gas masks, painted building camouflage to help keep hidden. ect. After when America found out Japan bombed them they took Japanese Americans and put them in interment camps. Even worse they toldPropaganda/false info to them about where they were being taken. But once they got there they noticed not many things the Americans said maybe not even one thing. Atleast try to make it how you say or atleast treat them like their at home not a full on guarded prison.
It effects the land their with the smoke and pollution that effects the plants, farms and other living things on land. The war effects our culture by ruining the eco system many animals and plants died out and now people had not much resources to use. World war II also changed how our land was by destroying a special area in our culture.
The War effects our culture in many different ways such as taking away metal toys from being bought from kids. Instead of it being toys then used it for tanks, weapons. ect. It also effected normal day activities such as kids playing outside. This changed it because the war caused of to have more security.

War makes a difference to everything. Like people, it affects them because during World war 2 everyone on Hawaii had curfews and they had to put up sheets to block the lights from there homes, also It makes people more scared and it affected there pets and there homes with the damage the bullets did. Families had to move from there homes and a lot of those families had no place or enough money to stay in another house. The,people were fear shopping to prepare for another attack, also kids even babies had to wear regular sized gas masks when they went to school or even just to go outside. The military even seized peoples bank accounts for weapons.

War also effects culture because than people are more worried about something happening they stop doing things they normally do. Like playing outside and that's why now more kids play video games. War also leaves damage to buildings and free land. When people were moving the prices went up super high because they knew a lot of people were going to move, and a lot of people were trying to find a place to stay in. A lot of things were taken from people and now that's why people don't play outside a lot because they have nothing to play with outside. It changes and separates friendships.

Lastly it effects the land not only because buildings and land are destroyed but people had to move from the harbor to another place because the military needed more space for other things like barracks. Also more things get built for protection and now in O'ahu there is hardly no land for just space. Land became more important for the military and a lot of people wanted to move to the mainland because they were scared of another bombing from the Japanese.

These are only three thing what war effects and that's a lot so that's why we should stop war and be kind and helpful to others.

War effects a lot of things because in World War 2 the war effected culture, people, and land.
The War affected the people because everyone had to get use to wearing gas masks because America thought Japan was gonna bomb Hawai'i again so they had to take it around with them every where they went. They also had to get used to blackout and curfews. They had to get used to putting out black curtains on their windows, and not putting the light on after dark. They also had to worry about not being on the road after dark. It made the Japanese Americans very sad, angry, and confused because they lost their jobs, homes, money, and their dignity.
The war also affected land. because after the Japanese bombed Pu'uloa it was damaged.

War affects people because it can cause people who witness the horrors of war to think about the world differently, as it can cause a pessimist to become a pacifist (the opposite of a pessimist).
War affects culture, because of the developments made for it, for example, World War 2 caused the mass development of jet engines, the introduction of computers and spawned the use of penicillin, which is kind of the first real antibiotic. In other times, war was responsible for creating things such as paper napkins (weird, I know), mobile X-ray machines, wristwatches, veggie sausages and air traffic control (?). So essentially what I'm saying is that with out WW2, there wouldn't be any 747s, video games, and your dog might have died, along with you not using the loved (and hated) paper napkins,
War affects land because of the endless scars that it leaves. Some of these scars are caused by war related events such as tanks crashing through 12th century cathedrals, or mass carpet bombing (I'm looking at you, B-17/29s!). Other scars of war are left by the structures built by armies for defense ( a good example of this is the Maginot Line, a line of fortresses built to defend France from the Germans.).

The war affected people because the government had made a rule about curfews. No one could be out after night, or even have any lights on after a certain time. In the story, if you had not turned off your light, sometimes the security guards would shoot a gun at the source so the light would go out. People who have witnessed war might now have a different opinion on how the world really is.

War can affect the land because sometimes you can loose homes, and possessions. In the book the little girl had lost their house to the army because they didn't want anyone anywhere near the place of Pu'uloa .The war had also affected the land because after the bombing of Pu'uloa was damaged and left with multiple dents, and scars.

It affected our culture because now we have a lot of more security and security guards, compared to back then before the bombing of Pu'uloa had started.

Wars impact the world and people around us. This war changed many things as of right now. One of the things is that now we have added security. They had small security groups before this bombing. Now there is more surveillance for our land. We also have more defense. We now have more military camps/people to help keep the land safe.
This changes people because back in that time period of the bombing they had curfews. This means that they have to turn off all lights and canʻt go outside after the curfew. This changed a lot as everyone has to fit in everything they have to do in that small time period. The only way around this is if you paint or cover your windows with black. This causes even more problems as there wasnʻt much electricity so it was super hot and you could get dehydrated. They also were scared that they could of been bombed again and again so they had to keep their guard out. This even might change how they think. Someone who has hope might of not had it during the bombing. Someone could have thought of killing themselves because they "know" that they will die.
This changes the land because when the bombing happened everyone was in panic. Buildings were on fire, guns shot at things, there was no limits to what they could do. (kinda) It would take a long time to rebuild that. There would be no animals out there cause most would die from the fire or the pollution that it comes with.
Everyone would have to pause what their doing to contribute to repair the land. There were many remains of the buildings that were attacked that they just had to start cleaning up. You couldnʻt just procrastinate and wait for 5 years and than clean up. There was toxic waste so people might start dying from that also. Barbed wires was pretty much everywhere also. There was so much barbed wire it looked very ugly.
This changed the culture itself too. This changed it because the war caused of to have more layers and layers of security. Itʻs like they are stalking us. They are just always on your case. Some cultures actually just gave in and just gave up. Some people lost the land because Navy made them pay rent on it and they couldnʻt afford it. Some people were heartbroken that they couldnʻt keep the land that they probably grew up with. They also lost everything that was in the house. This might have caused trauma to some people. All children in all cultures suffered from this bombing of Pearl Harbor.

World War 2 affected people because the loses love ones, they could have lost everything and they needed to get use to way new schedule and the sound of bombs and the get use to the dark. People may have starved and other could have ben dehydrated. Japanese people had to live at interment and some lived there for years just because their race (Japanese). Lots of people didn't have money. People had to buy new home because the government was taking them away, if the people didn't give up their home they would have to pay rent for their house. There was bullets in walls. People had to get use to wearing gas masks (practically everyday).

The war affected land because the Japanese people may have contaminated the air with a gas that you can't breath in. People built lots of interment camps and that used a lot of land just to keep Japanese people in captive. So many crops died. The water was polluted
and lots of gas and junk was in the piers.

It can affect our culture because Hawaiians didn't have supplies for another bombing to happen. The military used plastic and metal resources to build tanks or anything to help supple the Harbor. Hawaiians had to get use to a whole new environment.

The war effected people in good and bad ways (Mostly bad though.) For example. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, people were in fear, they put blackout curtains on their windows and had to have lights turned off as soon as it got dark. Toys, tires, and everything metal were melted down to make bullets, tanks and other useful items that the United States military could use to fight the war. This also affected Japanese-American citizens because they were sent to internment camps because the American government thought that the people in the internment camps could be spies for Japan. That was a serious inconvenience for the Japanese -Americans because they actually had lives that they probably enjoyed and it was stopped by the internment camps and the war.
        This also affected the land.
One way that this affected the appearance of the land is when the army had to put up ugly barbed wire on the beaches to prevent enemies attacking from the sea to get on land. Also, buildings were painted camouflage (It sounds like a good idea but it really was not). Another way that the land changed is when the harbor was bombed, bombs and incendiary bullets burned not only the boats and bases but also forests and other things that were from nature making the land look burnt and dead.
The culture was changed during this war after the bombing of Puʻuloa because people were scared of another attack and they became a different culture, a culture that lived in fear of another attack that could be quite disastrous to the Hawaiian Islands. People had to carry gas masks wherever they went and had to create new currency. I wonder what life would be like today if the Japanese did not bomb Pearl Harbor.

Because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor the Japanese people had to go into interment camps there was a curfue and there was gaurds with guns that were loaded.
World war 2 efected MANY THINGS in many ways one way is that it affected People. The way it affected people is that they lost all of there houses they did not know what to do at that point they could not reskue anything because they wanted to be safe themself. There was black out when the bombing started people could not see anything they did not know where they were going. All they could do and had to do was close all of there windows so none of the Japanese people could see them and bomb there own houses. All the people closed there windows so nobodys houses got bombed. They also lost people during it not only valable thing they lost presious things people they losts. People lost there own Family members because of what Japan did to Pearl Harbor. All black and all smokey they land was token from them because Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor. People did not know why Japan bombed Pearl Harbor but later on I found out that they did it because they wanted America to go into World War 2 And America did go into World War 2 because of Japan they faught Japan and did not give up they wanted to get revenge on Japan. Everything was damged at Pearl Harbor.
It efected culter because people deid and so that means they are loosing ore and more people wic those people have there own athnisate wich what ever athnisate that person has that means that countey or state is loosing more people. Wich is like know because
we are losing more Hawaiians and pretty soon people are not going to be Hawaiian so that means that there is not going to be Hawaiians soon but there is still some more. People say that Hawaiians are going to dye out but it is not true.
Look at things know days it is much nicer but emagin what it was like for people back then it must of been really hard for them. It is much different.

World War 2 affected the lives of everyone and everything. I think that this book helped me to see the negative results of War. I am grateful I have not had to live in a time of War.
The environment and people were mostly affected. The environment was effected by the bombs, smoke, and fire. Buildings, homes, and land were changed and destroyed. There was rubbish everywhere and even in the water. Many types of birds and animals that were innocent were killed. Fire from the bombings killed native plants. There was not very much food after the war. Even the water was thought to be bad so many people were living off of water they had saved.
Every person living in Hawaii was affected by the War. In the book, the bombs were so bad that the main girl in Pearl Harbor Child had to drive with her family to the sugar cane fields to run from the bombs. It was sad to see how they were just having fun one minute and then the next minute they were all worried about what would happen. They had to leave their dog!
Families were separated and many families were worried that they would be bombed or killed. Many loved ones died because they were fighting for our freedom. There were also loved ones that died because they were trying to save those who were injured by the bombs and shrapnel. After the bombings, the people had to clean up where they live and also had to clean up the city.
Japanese and Hawaiian cultures were affected by the War. After Japan bombed Hawaii, America bombed Japan with an atomic bomb. War brings bad feelings. I hope there can be peace and not war.
