Vocabulary study and expansion. The app helps with enriching the vocabulary and practicing the spelling of words. It also helps by making sounding out the words, so that the pronunciation is also clear. 

I also started up a notebook dedicated to grammar rules and conjugation. I believe this will help in reinforcing was is taught each week.

They really enforce the memory as each day the session is begun by a review of the last day, so that any new words learnt aren't forgotten. It's especially useful for constructing phrases, as that is one of the issues I always find when trying to study for German.

I made a habit of conjugating every new verb learnt in class along with its translation so that if it's irregular or not, I will be aware of it and it will serve to expand my vocabulary range. I also practiced some more verb conjugations, trying to look for those that are more irregular so that any similarity between the irregular verbs could be analysed. This helped quite a bit, as most of the irregular verbs are irregular in quite the same way, that way it makes conjugating them a lot easier to do without needing to look them up. ]]> 2017-12-08 00:06:19 UTC https://padlet.com/cbersaneti1/phdgygykdahg/wish/214360638 cbersaneti1 https://padlet.com/cbersaneti1/phdgygykdahg/wish/214361681 While doing one of the homework's assigned to us, I found quite some difficulty in figuring out which form of Sie I was supposed to use, and when it was corrected in the lesson, I had gotten quite a lot of them wrong. Therefore I went and grabbed the grammar supplement and managed to spend a good 3 hours just figuring out which was which and how to differentiate between the sie (plural) and the Sie (formal). Lots of sentences form the course book and the extra handout were analysed to understand that the other words and verbs in the sentence will give a clue as to if it's implying a plural sie or a formal Sie. 

I also had to work on the first Essential homework and for those verbs that I had no knowledge of previously but searched in the dictionary to obtain were all subsequently conjugated in my notebook so that they would be committed to memory. Some videos were watched to help pronunciation of some sounds I've been having difficulty with, such as the ei or ie, as I never really know how to properly pronounce them. I personally found it very difficult to understand even short sentences, as I was not familiar with much of the vocabulary, however this served to add to my list of vocab.

I also watched some german videos, not in the sense that they were specifically teaching german, but the language spoken was German. This helped with the listening aspect, as identifying words spoken fast and by a native can be quite challenging, since in class sentences are sounded out clearly and slowly for the benefit of us beginners. Writing the credited essay was quite a challenge, as it required vocabulary I had no knowledge and conjugation of verbs in a tense we had not been taught.
