The kids have been writing notes to their classmates. The brown paper bags are to be taken out during class and put back when class is over. (They do not take any of the notes home or open any of them that they have received) If they finish their homeroom, they will start writing to the other class.

Have the paper available and maybe put on a timer so they know how much time they have. They must show you their note before you give them an envelope. (Check to see that they addressed their note and signed it. Also, check that it's 2 sentences at least.)

You may refer them to the sample sentence starters up on the board for kids who need them.  Encourage good handwriting and spelling. Assist with spelling.

We've been learning about the Joyful Mysteries.

Today talk about the 3rd Joyful Mystery: The Nativity of Jesus.

Watch the video to draw the Nativity. (Use my sample to see how I glued it to another paper to make it into one of the Joyful Mysteries)

Also, I already folded the paper for them to use. (Make sure they remember to use pencils and NOT markers like the video).

This will probably take about 25-30 min to draw and color. IF they finish early, have them finish up the "Class Memories" coloring sheet from morning work or either of the first 2 Joyful Mysteries that they weren't finished with (these are in their baskets--they know).

(The banner isn't up yet, but it helps motivate them to do a good job if they know it's going to be displayed!)
