I moved with my family to Philadelphia at the age of 14 from Puerto Rico. Although my first language is Spanish and my grammar still shows I'm ELL, I have never let that be a barrier in life. I've been in the classroom for 10 years as an SLA and I am seeking to further my career outside the classroom while continuing to impact children's education. I taught kindergarten for 5 years, 3 years in first grade, and now 3 years in fourth grade. I am also a volleyball and softball coach as well as a teacher mentor for lower grade teachers and new teachers. One of my strengths is that I am a team player and very flexible. One challenge I have is that I tend to be a procrastinator. Between softball, baseball, and volleyball, they keep my schedule busy. The better half of me is my amazing husband, whom I been married to for 18 years. He is my cheerleader and biggest supporter. I am also a sister of 5, a daughter, and aunt, a mentor, a coach, and a friend among others. I consider my self a busy bee. Now that my kiddos are bigger, I believe is the perfect time to go back to school and further my education. Above all, I am aiming to continue to be a role model for my kids. I am the captain of my own team. My team consists of friends and family members. One of the things I cherish the most is that my daughter and my bbs play with me. My husband is the coach and my son the assistant coach.
