There are different ways to treat the two types of strokes.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Ischemic</strong></p><p>Medicine: Tissue Plasminogen Activator - breaks up blood clots to allow blood back to the brain</p><p>Procedures: Angioplasty- opens a blood vessel ; Stent is placed to clear pathways ; Mesh is used capture the clot</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Hemorrhagic</strong></p><p>Medicine: Blood pressure medication - to lower strain on vessels ; Vitamin K - to stop bleeding</p><p>Procedures: Aneurysm Clipping - prevents the spread in the brain ; Draining extra brain fluid ; Drilling hole in the skull to alieve pressure</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Aftercare:</strong> Rehabilitation programs, breathing support, feeding tube, occupational and/or physical therapy</p>]]></description>
