We want more empowerment and self effectiveness for our black children, black parents and black educators.

1. Our children need being more seen in the everyday life of Sankofa. (e.g. Eingewöhnung, greetings and goodbyes, conflict situations, being dressed, quiet time etc). -

2. Educators need to take more initiative and feel more responsible. > responsibilities of educarers to set boundaries in a connecting way with the children, dont use punishment and fear, reflecting the words they are using

Questions:

• How can we talk and voice wishes for improvement with the educators team, keeping power structures in mind?

• What does the team of educators need to be more engaged?

• How can we balance the different cultural perspectives on the theme of education in our Kita?

• Can we find common ground on the topic of authoritarian education versus attachment parenting (education oriented towards the childrens needs)?

• Could there be a workshop or another constructive way of talking about adultism?

First step: Talk to Nelson and initiate a questionaire about educators needs

• reflect the situation/needs of the kids and how challenging the current set up is

• Work with affirmation /awareness cards of Sandra

• new stories with empowering content

• One of us could offer help to the staff to find new ways for the children to relax with help of the cards, or yoga/meditation (Rita)
