         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hannah Schurman is a fashion designer from Rochester Hills, Michigan, graduating from Kalamazoo College in 2024 with a BA in biology and a studio art minor. She works with fabric to construct garments, seeing clothing both in terms of its practical wearability and its sculptural aspect.  </p><p><br></p><p>Hannah is interested in using her scientific background to create designs with an interdisciplinary emphasis. She conceptualizes and creates clothing with the goal of making tangible biological concepts in a novel and accessible manner. In her most recent work, she explored protein misfolding diseases, representing them in a series of three outfits she designed, patterned and constructed.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Julia Holt is an installation and scenic artist from Owatonna, Minnesota. In June of 2024, she received her BA in Studio Art and a minor in Chinese from Kalamazoo College. Julia primarily studied painting and sculpture during her undergrad, culminating into her Senior Individualized Project in which she exhibited large-scale installations of abstract paintings.</p><p><br/></p><p>During the summer of 2022, Julia was the Exhibit Technician Intern at Mackinac State Historic Parks, expanding her experience to design and artistic fabrication. She has also worked as a Scenic Artist for the Festival Playhouse at Kalamazoo College for three productions and as Assistant Scenic Designer for two. Most notable of her scenic work was designing for <em>The Mountaintop </em>in February of 2023, <em>Next to Normal </em>in May of 2023, and <em>Be More Chill </em>in May of 2024.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Brooklyn Mohr was born in Pontiac, Michigan in 2002. She graduated from Kalamazoo College in June of 2024 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, and a minor in Classical Civilizations. For two years, she worked as an instructor at Painting with a Twist, demonstrating and instructing various demographics on how to create a work of art. Currently, she is working abstractly, with acrylic paint and insulation boards. Her first show, “DUM SPIRO SPERO” focused on depicting moments and emotions as a way to process the human experience. </p>]]></description>

I also create digital artwork, specializing in promotional fliers and custom posters. I am deeply interested in the juxtaposition of Arab and American identities and exploring the paradox of the human experience throughout everyday life.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Kieya Kubert-Davis is an artist from Southwest Michigan. She graduated in June of 2024 with her BA in Studio Art and East Asian Studies from Kalamazoo college. During her time in college she delved into various art forms, styles, and techniques from oil painting, acrylic painting, figure drawing and sculpture. Her passion of painting compelled her to produce her capstone Senior Individualized Project in Studio Art with paint. Through this project she explored her own feelings of memories and nostalgia by creating dreamy landscapes.</p><p><br/></p><p>Kieya gained experience in the curation and planning of several art exhibitions during her time in college. She helped plan and set up a group Art Hop exhibition titled “Reframing Realities” that was open for the community. She also gained further knowledge in the curation of an exhibition through her solo exhibition in the Lights Fine Arts Gallery titled “Wonderous Worlds”. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Carolyn Ingram is a mixed media artist based in Michigan. During High school after experiencing an intense illness that kept her home, she rediscovered her love for art and taught herself linocut. She got her bachelor’s degree in studio art along with a film and media concentration at Kalamazoo College. Here she continued to explore mixed media by being drawn to painting, drawing and printmaking. She also discovered her love for comedy and writing by participating in the Improv team, Monkapult and the sketch comedy class, TV Production. She creates a variety of creative work that involves writing, printmaking, painting, drawing, and performing. Instead of isolating her work to one part, she continues to intertwine these passions to create a unique body of work.</p>]]></description>

She creates primarily in watercolor, acrylic, and fabric works, utilizing a whimsical and colorful artistic style to convey more serious subject matters. Currently, she is focused on themes of invisible disability and queerness, using her personal experiences to inform her work.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Maria Tripodis is a multi-media artist based in Kalamazaoo, Michigan but originates from Cleveland, Ohio. They graduated in June 2024 with a BA in Studio Art and minor in Psychology from Kalamazoo College. They work with ceramics and illustration primarily through character design. While forming these characters, stories bloom and connections are made both within and beyond the mythical reality.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Ana Garcia is a photographic artist and designer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In June of 2024, she received her BA in Studio Art from Kalamazoo College along with completing a minor in Mathematics and a concentration in Media Studies.</p><p><br></p><p>Her work adopts documentary-style shots of both urban and rural landscapes emphasizing color and structure. She is inspired by the New Topographics movement and its appreciation of banality. Ana fostered this fascination into her Senior Individualized Project, <em>Interim</em>, where she explores the concept of liminality while focusing on the interplay of photographic elements.</p><p><br></p><p>Ana also has experience in drawing, illustration, printmaking, sculpture, and lighting design. In addition to receiving Honors on her Senior Individualized Project in April of 2024, Ana received the Brian Gougeon Prize in Art during November of 2021, an award highlighting first year achievement and potential in art at Kalamazoo College.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Brett Manski is a glassblower from Kalamazoo Michigan. In 2024 he graduated from Kalamazoo College with a bachelor’s of fine arts degree in Studio Art.&nbsp; During this time he also assisted different glassblowers and artists at Glass Art Kalamazoo. His work during school consisted of mixed medium sculptures that focused on connecting his experiences at college. He has worked on several group exhibitions, and one solo exhibition “Fragility”. Now he continues to assist and practice glass blowing at Glass Art Kalamazoo.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>
