when mom was telling the story Kristi mom told her she had to wear fish shoes then she was like were so poor we don't have leather

some thing else i noticed was that they changed there mood to when they were reading the story they were grossed out and sad but they changed when they were playing dolls and they were happy but also sad because there town was getting bomed on kristis birthday and kristi thought they were fire works because she was little

When Annmarie´s father was telling the story it made me think about later on in the story when she said ¨ then I´ll stand up for the king to!¨ that she was gonna stand up for him later on and will save Copenhagen.

Kristi when she heard the bombs she was told that they were to celebrate as fire works the kept here safe not to be sad about what was really going down in the bay.

my opinion is that Annmarie does not want to stick out apon all of her town/village and she wants to be a normal girl.

When Anne Marie´s dad said he and momma would die to save the king or to stand up for him maybe she thought that she would have to be brave to and stand up for the king and herself.
