Although states were claimed to be "free" at this point there was still laws put in place against black people. However, I believe the Cook's took care of Eliza and treated her like family. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Days had past and it seems as though the kids are getting worse. Eliza and Mattie seemed exhausted.. If they were to become ill there is no chance for those babies. </p><p><br/></p><p>Mattie brought up a good point. There is no way those babies will survive being bled. ESPECIALLY with their current state.</p><p><br/></p><p>I wonder if the doctor who started the "bleeding" process was actually skilled and trained. </p>]]></description>
