There's been a number of circumstances where humans benefitted from the gifts that nature brought, pursuing and migrating for these benefits. Yet there's times where humans bite-off more than what they can chew and end up hurting the world around them, destroying habitats and killing off other species. The environment can also be a cruel place, killing off Millions of people with events such as the Black Plague and the Ice Age. We work best when we have others to rely on, work with and trust. A lot of civilizations had social groups or hierarchies and most still do, dividing people depending on their occupation, or economic state and many governments are based around the social status of their people. There's also been times where the social status of people cause conflicts between countries. The way people interacted socially would also be effected because of peoples race or ethnicity, and sometimes where treated differently just because of your gender. One way many early civilizations economies skyrocketed was by producing and selling agricultural products, such as grains like corn, rice, and wheat. Furthermore, they sold "Cash Crops" which are crops which sold for high amounts of profit due to how widely spread the crop was needed. Tobacco, cotton, and sugar are all examples of cash crops. Metals, which were also extremely in demand also sold for high amounts, some of the metals sold were Bronze, Iron, Steel, Gold, and silver. Goods and Services play a huge part in developing or maintaining economies. Some goods like jewelry, silk, spices, or ivory were highly sought out for. For a government to exist there has to be a basic foundation. This foundation is the following; power depends on who rules the land, it may be Chiefs, Kings, a Royal Family, etc. Next how would they rule? They might possibly use socialist, communist, democratic, and/or use other policies to rule the land. These rules use Military, Law, Militia and other methods to enforce their power. Some believe in one Higher being or many Gods and others tell stories of encountering ancient creatures and many believe in a certain way to live their life. Many cultures have spread around the world like a wild fire, and others where forced on people from other lands, causing wars and acts of terrorism. Some examples include the events of 9/11, whos actions where caused by a group who had certain  religious beliefs. Another example is the fact that many Spanish conquistadors forced their religious beliefs on the people of Mexico. Religion and cultures have effected history in a number of ways, shaping many countries and their governments, and social systems to what they're like today. Whether that is in tools, weapons, building techniques, manufacturing, transportation, engines, energy, electronics, currency methods, etc. These advancements can either be small or large. A great example would be the beginning of the Stone Age.
