         <description><![CDATA[<div>I worked as a swimming instructor and taught daily swim lessons to students of ages and skill levels. I determined each student's swimming ability, interest and limitations. I was able to strategize different ways of teaching swimming to a diverse group of students. I also helped monitor students from levels 1-6 or higher, providing additional/extra assistance to struggling swimmers.&nbsp;<br>In a calm and supportive atmosphere, my lessons taught breath control, swimming safety, kicking, and floating. I made an effort to praise every child and educate them by demonstrating rather than telling.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The official secondary school diploma in Ontario is the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). A high school diploma requires the completion of 30 secondary education courses.&nbsp; Rick Hansen Secondary School was where I went to high school. From September 2017 to June 2020, I was a student there. My high school certificate is just one of many achievements I've had.&nbsp; My diploma will continue to open many doors for me to better myself.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

These abilities are essential as an aspiring CYC worker to lead a team of caretakers and coordinate efforts to offer the best care for children and youth. Understanding and accepting diversity and inclusion are also essential in youth and teenage care environments. This training has focused on how to build an inclusive atmosphere in which every child, regardless of origin, culture, or skills, feels loved and appreciated. I can build inclusive environments where all children have a feeling of belonging by implementing the concepts of diversity and inclusion. This fosters a happy and supportive atmosphere, which benefits the children in my care's overall health and growth. I am able to encourage my team members to share their unique talents and viewpoints according to effective team leadership. A cohesive and strong team can work together to offer comprehensive care for children and youth. Overall, fostering a feeling of belonging using inclusive leadership can improve the emotional well-being of the children with whom I interact.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The course explored a variety of communication strategies for handling challenging conversations. I've learned how to effectively articulate myself, pay close attention to others, and use nonverbal signs to improve communication. Difficult conversations sometimes include confronting disagreements or difficult situations. The training has taught me how to negotiate disagreements, establish common ground, and strive towards fair and respectful settlements. Having strong communication skills allows me to create trust with the young people who I connect with throughout my internship. Communication that is open and honest provides a sense of safety and security, making it easier for children to communicate their ideas, feelings, and worries with me. Addressing sensitive or emotional issues can often be part of having challenging talks. I can approach these interactions with empathy and understanding by using the conflict resolution strategies I acquired in the course, therefore promoting the emotional well-being of the children in my care. When dealing with hard behaviours or disagreements between children, difficult discussions are frequent. I am now able to address these situations positively and assist young people towards more positive behaviours and relationships because of the resources I received during the training. Overall, being able to get involved in challenging conversations with sensitivity and empathy helps to create a caring and inclusive atmosphere, which improves the overall care and support offered to the children in my care.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

It helps create an open and safe environment where they can freely express themselves and discuss their thoughts and concerns. Providing emotional support and validating their experiences becomes easier through transparent communication, which is vital for their emotional well-being.</div><div><br></div><div>The course also covers conflict resolution through open and honest communication. I can learn how to navigate challenging conversations and achieve equitable and inclusive outcomes.
