He admired their teamwork and envied their money, wealth, and unity in religion of which he was striving for Cambodia alone. The roots of their of their amalgamation can track back to the early 1650s, when the aspect of communism became more relevant in Cambodia, following with the ruling of a monarchy. In 1960 he managed the group to adopt the political ideology of the soviet union, following the path of communism. Under the power of Pol Pot and the tyranny of the Khmer Rouge they overall controlled every aspect and necessity of a citizen's life. Strict rules were created toward a human beings relationships, language, and clothing. The evacuation of an estimated 2.5 million citizens occurred in the capital of Phnom Penh. The elderly of this group were sent to the rural areas, and put into the identification of the "peasant class" and pushed the younger generations of feeding citizens to the central points of the cities.
