Both of their stories are really touching especial how St Maximilian Kolbe gave up his life for someone else and decided to become a martyr. Researching this made me think if they ever doubted themselves or their path. Some differences are that St Francis was once very wealthy but decided to be humble but St kolbe was born into a poor family and stayed that way.
