Christopher Zachariah
Family is the group of people that you surround yourself that you can confine in and feel like you belong. This does not need to be blood. Friends are also included into the definition of family because of how close those bonds can be. To me a family is defined purely as a group of people who all care about one another's well being. There does not need to be children or marriage involved at all. Then on the other hand in a legal sense the word family means any two people who are together for a long duration of time having one or more children.

Shannon Graham
Family can be defined by many things. Many people believe family is when two or more people are related by blood, marriage, or adoption. Some people believe that a Consanguineal family (where those in the family are related by blood) is the true means of family, while I myself believe family should be more like a Conjugal family (where people are related through emotional bonds). I believe family should not always be determined by blood, and that it is extremely important for society to embrace different interpretations of family. Family is at the base of every functioning society, and is crucial for humans emotional, physical, financial stability. It is at the very core of human nature for us to feel accepted, loved, and secure among our own kind, and having strong bonds with those we consider family give us this.
Family is blood, an emotional bond, people you trust, people you would do anything for, but most importantly family is with the people you love.

The individuals who are by our sides through both the good and the bad times, no matter the case, they support you. These individuals may be blood related such as parents, siblings or grandparents, though they do not have to be. Friends can also be family, as well as pets. Family are the group of individuals we come in contact with entering our lives, and they are by our sides for life, continuously growing and changing.

Natasha Rodgers
I would define family as a bond between people that grows with age. A bond that brings each other to a deeper understanding of each other than others, when you can sense the emotions and support them without a word being spoken. A family is trying your hardest to do whats right to help each other through hard times and raise each other to their most potential. Family isn't always defined by blood family is a bond you make with those who have a large impact in your life. Family is someone you are close to that helps you and supports you is there for you when you need them and come to you when they are in need, they are always there to congratulate you on your success and even though there may be tension in a family at times they still will make sure that you are happy even if it upsets them. Family includes pets who are there for you for emotional support and will give you hugs if you are sad. It includes friends who always are there for you, who understand you. Family is not as simple as those you are related to by blood but also those by marriage and those by a family bond. For many Family is not blood but strangers who work their hardest and care for them and became their family. yes you are born into a family by blood but this family only grows as your life continues.

But it goes deeper than that, family is all about support, love and care. The dynamics of your family will help you define yourself, you base your identity on the ones that surround you.
