         <title>COPE Health Scholars Program</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The COPE Health Scholars program is an experiential learning and workforce development program. Through our program, individuals will:</p><ul><li><p>Work directly in a hospital-setting to <strong>assist with patient care</strong>&nbsp;(i.e. feeding, bathing, ambulating, reposition, etc.) and hospital administration.</p></li><li><p><strong>Gain experience from the various clinical and administrative units</strong>&nbsp;throughout their time in the program to build their soft skills and resume for future job and/or graduate school applications.</p></li><li><p><strong>Receive a certificate&nbsp;in Pre-Licensed Clinical Care and Patient Experience&nbsp;from the Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) upon graduation from the program.</strong></p></li><li><p>Be eligible for a <strong>letter of recommendation </strong>upon completion of a minimum of 280 hours.</p></li></ul><p>To learn more, you can find more information on our website linked below. Training is done online, and may not take the entire 3 months. Volunteering at the Zoo is a minimum 6 month commitment that requires weekly shifts. There is a 1 time registration fee and yearly annual $36 dues to stay active in the program. All Animal Experiences volunteers volunteers must be 18yrs or older. All prospective volunteers must attend an orientation session onsite at the Zoo. Registration Fees: (include training, uniform polo shirt, nametag and materials) AE volunteers - $100 What's Next: 1. Apply 2. Attend the Orientation 3. Be accepted into the program and pay the fee 4. Start Training 5. Complete shadow shifts 6.
