Relating finely to epicureanism in pleasure of life aspect, one must remain stoic and grounded through all. The way to do this is human laws, such as political parties and communities to keep one anchored and not allowing a rebel. With the hierarchal branches of government in American democracy, they keep the people at bay from radical outburst best as possible while projecting each parties' wants in compromise. With the Republic, to sum it up, there is a need of a perfect balance of monarchy, aristocracy, and democracy in order to have a functioning government and society; and too much of one category corrupts the optimal balance. Such ideology pertains to the creation of the Constitution.
