Race: I remember knowing my friends were one color and I was a different color. I tried to fit in with people who were the same color, but religion got in the way. When I tried to fit in with religion I was the wrong color....this was hard and helped define my identity of feeling lost as a teenager.

1. Sports: Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I played a great amount of sports throughout my life including soccer, skiing, dance, climbing, tennis, gymanstics, and swimming. I now only play soccer and ski. I am on a USA Metro team for soccer and I am on the AltaBird Free-ride team for skiing. Last season I was ranked 2nd in the nation and won nationals last February. This is a huge part of my identity because this is something I spend a ton of time doing and it is a huge source of happiness for me.
2. It seem like in our society, to define a persons ethnicity and culture, we look at the color of their skin, but in reality it is so much deeper than that.
3. It is partially a social construct. A society gathers important traits from their people and that is now used as a identifier for their people.
4. Race is based upon observable, visible traits. Ethnicity is based upon a persons culture, language, beliefs, and other non-visible traits.

This short story relates to what we've learned about ethnic groups are that people express themselves/cultures by acting/doing certain things.
3. I think we tend to determine someone's race by their appearance.
4. Someone can be of the same ethnicity, but different race because someone could have the same ethnic background, but not the same appearance or race.
5. Race is not based on science because it's based on visible traits of a person.
6. Centrifugal, Centrifugal, Centripetal, Centripetal.

1. Music really defines me and my character since I listen to music so often and it can affect the way i feel and even my confidence
2. This video shows the merging of new and old norms of an ethnic group. Despite wearing traditional clothing and following tradition they mixed in modern technology
3. We determine race using skin color and other physical traits, it's not very accurate
5. The history of many countries allow for people to be different races but the same ethnicities. White Europeans raping and mixing with black and Indigenous women hundreds of years ago is why many people can be whiter than others
6. I think something that demonstrates that race isn't based on science is the fact that we aren't different species, we are one race. The human race. Yet the idea of race was created to cause even more division

The football teams that I played for, are welcoming, but most not so well.
2. Ethnic groups have their own ways of doing things that other people don't really do.
3. We determine someone's race by their skin or the way they talk.
5. The stuff that happened back then, brought lots of slaves to Mexico. They took in the Mexican ethnicity. Race is something physical and what is on the outside, but ethnicity has to deal with something on the inside.
6.
